I find that as the planet raises its vibration, that we all have less time to do things than we did before. Here are some techniques I use to help me manage the time that I have so I can accomplish as much in a day as I can.
Do Stuff You Dislike First: I was reading a blog post tweeted on Twitter that unfortunately I did not bookmark that gave me a really easy way to boost my productivity. What you do is make up a list of all the things that you would like to accomplish in the next day. After you make up your list, order it in priority by placing the things you love to do at the top of the page and the things you would like to accomplish but don’t enjoy doing at the bottom of the page.
Then reverse the order of activities on the list and start the next day by doing the things you don’t want to do FIRST and the things that you love to do LAST. This is quite effective because we all are great about creating time for things we love to do and tend to put off doing the things we do not like to do. This way you begin with stuff that you don’t want to do and end your day doing things that you love to do.
Egg Timer: I always have an egg timer by my desk and if I am doing something I do not want to do, I will set the egg timer for 15 to 45 minutes and focus on trying to do as much as possible in that time frame. It becomes sort of a game and I can do anything for less than hour. And sometimes I get so much done and so wrapped up in what I am doing that I reset the timer after it goes off for another round.
Read Email and Play on Twitter at Certain Times of the Day for Certain Time Frames: My two biggest distractions right now to getting things done are reading and replying to the endless series of email messages I receive and getting sucked into the vortex of time also known as Twitter. I try to do each of these several times of day for less than an hour. That helps me to carve out large blocks of time where I can focus on getting things done.
